Regina Waller is the Communications, Division Manager in External Affairs for Fulton County. In this role, Ms. Waller works with a team of Public Affairs Officers, Graphics Designers, and Community Relations. She and her team also work closely with each member of the Digital Communications team to assist in providing information for the county’s website and social media platforms. As the Communications, Division Manager, Ms. Waller also serves as the media liaison for the Fulton County Board of Registration and Elections Department. This includes supervising all media requests for the department during all major and local elections. Ms. Waller brings extensive experience to Fulton County, including more than 20 years of experience as an investigative news anchor, communications professional, educator, and corporate trainer.
Ms. Waller began her career in the late 1980’s as a general assignment reporter. By the mid-1990’s Waller was known as an award-winning investigative news anchor and reporter. Because of her strong passion for learning, she turned her focus to producing and reporting education stories that provided an in depth look into the culture of various school systems.
Following a move to Birmingham, Alabama in 1996, she began working as an anchor/reporter for the CBS affiliate and Cox Radio. In 2000, her career goals shifted into the areas of media relations, communications, and marketing. Her diverse skills have enabled her to obtain the following leadership positions including:
- Community Relations Director
- Senior Media Relations Officer
- Media Relations Director
- Public Relations Director
Ms. Waller is also a business and communications adjunct instructor for secondary and higher learning institutions throughout the southeast.
In addition to her professional achievements, Waller has also excelled academically. Ms. Waller received a Bachelors in Journalism from Georgia State University (1988) and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Phoenix (2007). At this time, Waller is preparing to complete the final 28 hours of her doctoral degree in Business Administration with a concentration in leadership. Ms. Waller receive the honor of becoming one of Fulton County’s Certified Public Managers in May 2021 from the University of Georgia.
Ms. Waller is a known leader in communications with specialized skills in media relations, marketing, speech writing, graphic design, and events planning.
