Fulton County proclaimed March 30th as Alfred Uhry Appreciation Day. Hear more from District 3 Commissioner Dana Barrett as she talks about the playwright Alfred Uhry. We are at a dinner at the temple honoring Alfred Uhry who is a world-renowned and award-winning playwright and screenwriter. This is a true Fulton County son, and all of his work is sort of based around the Atlanta area and really about our culture, our society, and these critical stories both for the Jewish community and also with Driving Miss Daisy connecting to the black community. This coming together of groups who don't always understand each other has kind of been the base of a lot of what he writes about. Mr. Uhry is still such an inspiration to not only theatergoers and people who just love culture, but also writers who are trying to get started now.
