Over the past five years, Fulton County has made a series of energy efficiency improvements to the Government Center and Justice Center through a Fulton County Urban Redevelopment Agency (FCURA) bond fund. As shown in the graph below, these improvements resulted in a 17% drop in electricity use from 2019 to 2023 at both buildings. These electricity savings have resulted in an estimated cost savings of $1.8 million from 2018 to 2023.

The Fulton County Urban Redevelopment Agency is comprised of the Fulton County Board of Commissioners and approves urban redevelopment projects. Building improvements are completed by the county’s Department of Real Estate and Asset Management (DREAM). DREAM also manages the construction of new county buildings, such as the Animal Services Building and the Behavioral Health Crisis Center.
