Since July, Fulton County Animal Services has had record breaking intake numbers. Hear more from Shelter Director, Fulton County Animal Services Audrey Shoemaker. The first week of July we took in 211 dogs and we had 149 leave. That shows that there was a lot of dogs to take in in one week, so we were already going to face some challenges. But we ended up having 62 dogs that didn't have outcomes, and that is on top of the existing dogs that we have in shelter. Our goal is to always provide resources to people so that they can keep their pet rather than having them come into the sheltering system.
