The annual Senior Black History Program was in session. Hear more from Southeast Neighborhood Senior Center Manager Janette Askew. This is a time when we come together annually to celebrate our black heritage. Today we had speakers, dancing, singing, as we all came together to say "I am" I am were many historians, musicians, activists, all of the people that paved the way. I enjoy coming to the center for the collaboration, the gathering, and the fun to unite the seniors as we come to this generation in our lives where we can still be active. We can still communicate. We can still learn. We can still have fun. It's a wonderful place to come to and I'm so thankful that it is here so that we can have this pleasure every day.
