A photograph of late Congressman John Lewis now graces a U.S. Postal Service Forever Stamp now available for 66 cents each. The congressman died in 2020 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. An avid stamp collector, now his legacy will live on for generations around the world. The congressman from Georgia served in the United States House of Representatives for more than three decades. He will forever be remembered for the brutality he suffered on Bloody Sunday in 1965 when he led a march across the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama. National television coverage of the violence became a turning point in the Civil Rights Movement.
