Fulton County District 2 Commissioner Bob Ellis was unanimously voted Vice-Chairman by his colleagues on the Fulton County Board of Commissioners during its January 4 meeting. Commissioner Ellis will serve in that position for the next year.
“It is an honor to once again serve the constituents of Fulton County and the Board in this capacity,” said Commissioner Ellis. “Not only is this an honor, but a pleasure to be able to work with this group to ensure that we continue to provide quality programs and services for all Fulton County residents.”
Commissioner Ellis, who represents Fulton County’s District 2, which encompasses the cities of Milton, Mountain Park and large parts of Alpharetta, Roswell, and Sandy Springs was elected to office in November 2014. In addition to currently serving as Vice Chairman, Ellis also was named to the role in 2017 and 2019. The District 2 Commissioner is also the Chairman of the County’s Audit Committee, a board member of the Atlanta-Fulton County Recreation Authority, the Atlanta-Fulton County Water Resources Commission, and the Fulton County Employees Retirement System.
Professionally, Ellis is a National Product Leader for CNA Financial Corporation, a leading property and casualty insurance company. During his career in the insurance industry, he has held a variety of underwriting, management and leadership roles. Bob has extensive expertise in providing risk management services and insurance protection to companies and senior management.
Commissioner Ellis is a champion for fiscal responsibility and transparency, enhancing Fulton County infrastructure, strengthening County management, and fostering a culture of excellent customer service. Commissioner Ellis is also known for his advocacy in improving the County’s delivery of Behavioral Health and Public Health services.
The Commissioner is a native of Commerce, GA, graduated with the highest honors from the University of Georgia’s Terry School of Business, and is a long-time resident of North Fulton County. Commissioner Ellis and his wife Jennifer have three children and reside in Milton.
