Fulton County District 5 Commissioner Marvin S. Arrington, Jr. invites families to his 7th Annual Family Fun Day. The event, scheduled for Saturday, May 7, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., will be held at the Oak Hill, Child, Family, and Adolescent Center located at 2805 Metropolitan Parkway SW, Atlanta, GA 30315.
The annual outdoor event combines both fun activities with public health awareness efforts.
“For the past two years, my office curtailed this event to a drive-thru food and mask giveaway. I am happy to once offer this day present of fun and education to the residents of District 5,” said, Commissioner Marvin S. Arrington, Jr. “Oak Hill has been home to this event for the past 7 years, and regrettably, Oak Hill will not be in new District 5 in January 2023. Therefore, we are hoping for the best turn out ever as we transition to serve other residents in Fulton County.”
Among the highlights of this event includes storytelling, face painting, yoga, line dancing, and more. There will be live appearances from special guests. Free lunches and slushies will be served, but supplies are limited. Participants must RSVP.
Family Fun Day focuses on healthy living through health education and screenings, COVID-19 testing and vaccinations, and a mobile food pantry. The event will feature performances by Poet Hank Stewart, Cast of Stepp Stewart’s “Motown Motor City Revue”, Bowden Steppers, Engele Edeliegba Dance Group. Participants will also be able to partake virtual experiences using Ocuclus VR headsets.
Parking will be available at the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church at 2840 Metropolitan Pkwy SW, Atlanta, GA 30315 and at Emma Hutchinson Elementary School at 650 Cleveland Avenue, Atlanta, GA 30315.
