The Fulton County Board of Commissioners approved $6.8 million in Community Services Program funding to support 157 nonprofit organizations during the March 2, 2022 Board meeting. The Community Services Program is an annual competitive program that awards funding to nonprofit agencies serving Fulton County residents, funding social services programs in alignment with the County’s Strategic Plan.
Services will be delivered by nonprofits in several key areas, including:
• Children and Youth Services
• Disabilities
• Economic Stability/Poverty
• Health and Wellness
• Homelessness
• Senior Services
Fulton County Manager Dick Anderson emphasized the importance of connecting and supporting citizens served by CSP. “We are delighted with the increase in the number of citizens served with our Community Services Program,” said Anderson. “In 2021, the County served more than 70,000 Fulton County Citizens through CSP, during the midst of the COVID19 pandemic.”
“Fulton County is fortunate to have a robust nonprofit community who play a key role in supporting our residents,” added Dr. Pamela Roshell, Fulton County Chief Operating Officer, Health, Human Services & Public Works. “To implement the CSP program, staff created a strategic process to ensure that funded service providers would deliver programs with impact.”
Applicants submitted detailed proposals in their respective subject areas. Eligible proposals were evaluated by internal and external subject matter evaluators. Contract award recipients must present outcomes that document impact within their service areas.
The Board of Commissioner first approved the implementation of the Community Services Program on November 2, 2016, to provide the framework for delivering essential services Countywide.
