The Fulton County Department of Public Works is in the process of designing a new wastewater collection system for current and future customers in Fulton County. After the completion of the design, the pump stations and force main will be constructed within the City Limits of Chattahoochee Hills, Palmetto and South Fulton.
“This is a great example of the ongoing work this department is doing to ensure that our customers receive the highest level of water services,” said Director of Public Works, David Clark. “The pump stations and force main will be constructed within the city limits of Chattahoochee Hills, Palmetto and South Fulton.”
The Atlanta Newnan Road Pump Station and Force Main project will consist of 2 new pump stations, and approximately 46,000 linear feet of force main. The new Atlanta Newnan Road Pump Station will serve the existing Serenbe development, Cedar Creek sewer basin, and surrounding areas. The installation of the Atlanta Newnan Road Pump Station will allow for removal of the privately maintained water reclamation treatment facility within the Serenbe development.
The Little Bear Pump Station will serve the existing Crossroads development, proposed Wilkerson Mill Pump Station and surrounding areas. This project will remove the existing Little Bear Pump Station and Water Reclamation Facility adjacent to the existing subdivision after acceptance and placing into service a new Little Bear Pump Station.
The selected design/build team will design the pump stations & force main. The design phase for the project is expected to last 180 days, and will be completed by June 2022, with construction of the force mains and pump stations to begin by late fall.
