On Wednesday, September 15, the Fulton County Board of Commissioners approved the appointment of Cathy Woolard as the Chair of the Fulton County Board of Registration & Elections. The vote was 4-2.
Ms. Woolard was nominated by Chairman Robb Pitts.
“We need the best possible candidate in this role,” said Chairman Pitts. “Ms. Woolard has a proven track record of fair and impartial action. With an election pending in less than 60 days, and a “performance review” imminent by the State Election Board, time is of the essence.”
Ms. Woolard has a long career in public service, having served as the Atlanta City Council President. She later served with the international nonprofit organization CARE, and then served as a government affairs professional representing a number of organizations. She has also been a frequent commentator on the Georgia Gang program on WAGA-TV. She is a Fulton County resident living in the City of Atlanta.
