The Fulton County Department of Registration and Elections received top honors during the recent annual conference of the Georgia Association of Voter Registration and Elections Officials (GAVREO).
The department became the recipient of the Phoenix Award during the four day conference on August 31, 2021. The award was given “In recognition and appreciation of dedicated service, devotion, and commitment” to elections and the voters of Fulton County, which is part Region 3.
Fulton County Chairman Robb Pitts expresses appreciation for the honor.
“It is truly an honor for Fulton County to be recognized for its efforts regarding voter preparation,” said Pitts. “Being recognized by our peers from around the state shows that - despite the naysayers’ claims - the Fulton County Department of Registration and Elections persevered through the challenges and held a successful election. Our Elections team remained committed to the task of developing an elections process that made sure all voters were given the same community experience and access regardless of how they chose to vote.”

The Georgia Association of Voter Registration and Elections Officials Conference was held on Jekyll Island August 29 – September 1. The Fulton County Department of Registration and Elections was one of 14 counties recognized as award recipients.
