Fulton County has allocated $3.4 million to nonprofits as part of ongoing COVID-19 response. This is second allotment of Fulton County COVID-19 Emergency Relief funding in 10 days, following the approval of $10 million by the Fulton County Board of Commissioners on Wednesday, April 1, 2020.

The agencies receiving this week’s funding allotments will support services in the areas of homelessness, senior services, economic stability and assistance for residents living in poverty, as well as food delivery to seniors. Specific allocations include:

Homeless Services
Traveler’s Aid - Hope Atlanta will receive $350,000 for isolation beds for symptomatic individuals awaiting results for COVID-19 tests, and those who have tested positive for COVID-19 but who do not need hospitalization.

The following agencies will also each receive funding to serve homeless residents:

• Mary Hall Freedom House - $100,000
• Nicholas House - $100,000
• Covenant House - $100,000
• Caring Works - $100,000
• City of Refuge - $100,000
• Solomon’s Temple - $100,000
• Our House - $100,000
• Drake House - $100,000

In addition, $500,000 has been allocated for food delivery service for 75 families living in nine identified hotels from local restaurants.

Emergency Assistance:
The following agencies will receive funding for emergency assistance for seniors and individuals with disabilities:

• Fulton Atlanta Community Action Authority - $150,000
• South Fulton Senior Services - $150,000
• North Fulton Senior Services - $150,000
• Council on Aging - $100,000

Senior Meal Delivery:
The following agencies will each receive funding to assist with expanded meal delivery for Fulton County seniors:

• Piccadilly - $225,000
• Project Open Hand - $225,000
• QLS - $150,000
• National Church Residences - $250,000
• GoodR - $390,000

Throughout this week, Fulton County has celebrated “Hope Week,” highlighting the tangible assistance that Fulton County is providing to residents in the midst of the COVID-19 response, through the service of County departments as well as through partnerships with nonprofit agencies and other governments. While public facilities are closed, now more than ever Fulton County is serving residents in need.
