Operation Green Light for Veterans Ceremony

Operation Green Light for Veterans Ceremony

The Fulton County Government Center will illuminate in green on November 4.

Fulton County will honor local veterans during the Annual Operation Green Light Ceremony at 5 p.m. on Monday, November 4. The public is invited to join Fulton County Vice Chair Khadijah Abdur-Rahman of the “Mighty 6” and District 1 Commissioner Bridget Thorne for this celebration in the Atrium of the Government Center at 141 Pryor Street, SW in Downtown Atlanta.

Operation Greenlight is a national collaborative initiative to support military veterans, as well as raise awareness about the unique challenges they may face. The ceremony will culminate with the Government Center being illuminated in green from November 4 through Veterans Day, November 11.

Residents are also encouraged to participate in Operation Green Light by simply changing one light bulb in their house to a green bulb. This can be an exterior light that neighbors and passersby see, or an interior light that sparks a conversation with friends. Commissioner Thorne is also encouraging businesses and governmental entities to also show support by illuminating their buildings in green throughout the week.
