Just days before the 2024 Olympics kick-off in Paris, the Fulton Films (GA) Office, in partnership with the Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Film, Entertainment, & Nightlife, will present a special free screening of the acclaimed documentary "Olympic Pride, American Prejudice” at the Historic Tara Theatre (2345 Cheshire Bridge Rd. NE, Atlanta, GA 30324) on Friday, July 19, from 1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. The Talkback session begins at 2:35 p.m.
Following the screening, Director and Fulton County Filmmaker Deborah Riley Draper will discuss her inspiration for the film. Former Olympic Medalists Edwin Moses, Antonio McKay, Shirley Meadows, and Melvin Pender, Jr. will share firsthand accounts of their Olympic journeys and the long history of struggles for equality on the world stage.
The special screening and other Fulton Films initiatives help to drive economic development in Fulton County. This focus on economic growth through the film sector serves as a testament to Fulton County's strategic investment in supporting industries that enhance both its economic vitality and cultural appeal.
