Lieutenant Colonel Adam Lee III

Lieutenant Colonel Adam Lee III retired from the Atlanta Police Department and joined the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office in 2018.  He is an alumnus of Saint Leo University and graduated with a Master of Science Degree in Critical Incident Management. Lieutenant Colonel Lee also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice. In addition to his formal education, he completed an advanced law enforcement command training course provided through Georgia State University in Tel Aviv, Israel in 2016.   

He began his career in law enforcement with the Atlanta Police Department in 1987 as a Patrol Officer and worked his way up to the rank of Major before retiring in late December of 2017. During his career Lieutenant Colonel Lee served in key areas with APD, which prepared him take on the responsibilities of a Command Officer with the Sheriff’s Office. Among his many assignments where Mayor’s Protection Detail,  Assistant Director of the Police Academy, Assistant Police Precinct Commander, and Major Crimes Section Commander, where he was responsible for overseeing homicide and sex crimes investigations. Currently, he serves as an Assistant Chief Jailer at the Fulton County Jail where he has more than 400 employees under his command.  He oversees operations of the main facility on Rice Street as well as the South Fulton Regional Annex, Marietta Annex and the Alpharetta Annex.
