Major Curtis Clark

Major Curtis Clark began his law enforcement career with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office in 1989. During his 30+ year career, Major Clark has served in each division of the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office thus affording him a unique perspective and breadth of knowledge relative to the operation of the agency. 

Early in his career, Major Clark worked in the Jail Division‘s Inmate Housing and subsequently the Intake Unit. He was later transferred to the Law Enforcement Division where he worked in field operations until he was promoted to Sergeant and worked as a Field Supervisor. In 1995, ahead of the Centennial Olympic Games, he founded the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Unit which was part of a multi-agency task force providing Bomb Squad response during the games in Atlanta; in conjunction with his other duties, he continued to command the Bomb Unit until 2012.  While commanding the Bomb Unit, he worked in Internal Affairs until he was promoted to Lieutenant in 2001 and reassigned to the Law Enforcement Division. As he moved through the ranks, he served as the Assistant Training Director for the Academy where he developed and implemented training curriculum to serve the needs of the divisional training programs. In 2008, he was promoted to Captain and reassigned to the Court Services Division where he managed the Court Security Unit responsible for providing security for the Justice Center Complex. Later, serving as the Jail Low Rise Commander, he was an integral part of a team that deployed an updated criminal justice information system allowing for improved communication and processes. In 2014 he was promoted to Major and reassigned to the Administration Division where he serves today. In this role, he was responsible for overseeing the operations of the 7 units within the division. 

Major Clark’s career has been dedicated to advancing and streamlining processes to allow for the operational success of the Agency. Throughout his career, Major Clark has always strived be a positive example in the law enforcement community and to bring out the best in all aspects of the agency.
