Javon Johnson

A founding ensemble member of Congo Square Theatre Company and founder of Bear Fruit Conservatory, award winning actor, playwright and screenwriter, acting coach, director, producer and Broadway actor, Javon Johnson currently stars in Tyler Perry’s hit TV drama “The Oval”. Johnson’s other credits include BET’s “The Quad” and “American Soul” as well as “Survivor’s Remorse” on STARZ, “Barbershop 2” and many more. His stage-play “Hambone” was a Sundance Theatre Lab selection and produced during the Victory Gardens’ Tony Award Winning season.

Johnson’s short film “Heaven” directed by the late great Chadwick Boseman screened at the African Movie Academy Award nomination, HollyShorts Film Festival, Pan African Film Festival, Cannes International Pan African Film Festival and Martha Vineyard’s African American Film Festival. In addition to his film and television projects, Johnson is also the founding Artistic Director of Bear Fruit Conservatory Performing Arts Training school.
