COMMISSIONER MARVIN S ARRINGTON JR TO PRESENT TOWN HALL ON HEALTHCARE DISPARITIES

Fulton County District 5 Commissioner Marvin S. Arrington, Jr., is taking on healthcare inequities impacting residents living south of I-20. The Commissioner will be joined by key stakeholders representing various levels of government and healthcare partners on Thursday, April 18, 2024, to discuss the alarming health disparities facing residents in the southern part of the county,

The Town Hall will begin at 6 p.m. at the Wolf Creek Library located at 3100 Enon Road, South Fulton, GA 30331.

“The healthcare inequities facing our communities of color is a public health crisis that is devasting and sadly ongoing,” said Commissioner Arrington. “It is time that we do more than simply talk about the problem, we must find the best solutions to resolve these issues. Where you live or the color of your skin should not be a factor when it comes to providing quality healthcare.”

The following panelists will discuss the crucial steps needed to bridge the gap in healthcare inequities that plague our community:

• Dr. Lynn Paxton, Fulton County Board of Health Director
• Dr. John Haupert, Grady Health System CEO • Nan Orrock, State of Georgia District 36 Senator • Sonya Halpern, State of Georgia District 39 Senator
• Alicia Ivey, Fulton DeKalb Hospital Authority Trustee • Carmalitha Gumbs, COSF District 2 Councilwoman

Other local elected officials representing various cities located below 1-20 will be in attendance.
