Lieutenant Colonel Jeffrey Moffett

Lieutenant Colonel Jeffrey Moffett began his career with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office in October 1991 less than a year from receiving an honorable discharge from the United States Marine Corps.

His first assignment within the agency was at the Fulton County Jail where he worked housing, medical, intake, and various other areas within the jail. He also had the experience of working as a member of the Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Unit.

It was after his assignment in the Fugitive Unit, he was instrumental in the creation of the first Jail Special Operations Response Team. At the rank of Sergeant he served as watch commander of the Alpharetta jail and Grady Hospital detention center and was an investigator in the Office of Professional Standards.

As he further progressed in rank, Lieutenant Colonel Moffett served as watch commander of the Law Enforcement Division, Jail Division and became a Division Commander of the jail where he had the responsibility of managing overall jail operations. Lieutenant Colonel Moffett currently serves as the Court Services Division Commander.
