Assistant Commander of Law Enforcement

Major Aldranon English

With more than 24 years of progressive law enforcement experience, Major Aldranon A. English is from “L.A.” commonly referred to as Lower Alabama – Mobile, Alabama – home of the Mardi Grads.  Major English is currently the Assistant Division Commander of Law Enforcement Division.

Throughout his career, he has had the privilege of serving in many leadership capacities within the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, including serving as a Georgia P.O.S.T. certified Senior Deputy at the Fulton County Jail, Planning and Research Division, Court Services Division, Bonding Administration Division, Juvenile Court, Training Division and Law Enforcement Division – Warrant and Services and the current Commander of the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Unit. He was promoted to the rank of sergeant and as a Georgia P.O.S.T. Certified Senior Instructor he was assigned to the Fulton Public Safety Training Center.  As a Lieutenant, English would go on to become the Assistant Commander of Court Security, responsible for managing the security operations of the Fulton County Justice Center Complex. Promoted to Captain, he then served as the Commander of the Fulton County Jail Security, along with managing the operations of the Jail North and South Annex Jail and prior to his current assignment, Major English was the Assistant Commander of Court Services Division. 

Major English is currently serving as the Assistant Division Commander of Law Enforcement Division.

Working in close partnership with the local communities, business owners, schools and non-profit organizations, Major English has built important relationships for hundreds and thousands of Fulton County residents in order to help make the county a safer place for all members of the community.

Major English earned his Associate of Science Degree in Criminal Justice, Associate of Science in Behavioral Science, Bachelor of Science Degree in Homeland Security and a Master of Public Administration Degree from Columbus State University and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Business Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Additionally, he is a graduate of the 43rd session of Georgia Law Enforcement Command College.

Major English is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served as an Infantryman Non-Commissioned Officer and as a United States Air Force – Georgia Air National Guard Security Force Non-Commissioned Officer with a combat deployment in Afghanistan in 2019.

Major English and his wife, Pam, have been married for more than 29 years and have three children.
