Colonel Mark Adger

Colonel Mark C. Adger, a native of Chicago, Illinois, relocated to Georgia in 1979. He is an alumnus of Georgia State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology. Colonel Adger is a former member of the Marine Corps Reserves. 

He began his career with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office in 1986 as a Sheriff’s Deputy.  Since that time, he has served as a Senior Instructor Trainer and S.W.A.T. team (Special Weapons and Tactics) Commander from 1996 to 2009.  In addition, he served as the FCSO Training Unit Commander from 2005 to 2009.  Currently, he serves as the Chief Jailer at the Fulton County Jail where he has more than 665 employees under his command.  He also oversees the South Fulton Regional Annex, Marietta Annex as well as the Alpharetta Annex.  Along with maintaining the security and safety of the various critical infrastructure facilities, Colonel Adger is tasked with ensuring that over 2700 inmates are provided medical, dental, and mental health services.
