Donna Kimbrell

Donna Kimbrell is an Assistant Chief Investigator with over twenty years of experience investigating domestic violence, elder abuse, sexual assaults, and crimes against children. Kimbrell is a certified law enforcement general instructor since 2002. She has trained patrol officers and investigators on the dynamics of domestic violence and on appropriate victim centered response to domestic violence, elder abuse, and sexual assaults. She has served as a patrol officer, field training officer, dispatcher, and detective during her 25 year career.

Kimbrell was with Douglasville Police Department for fifteen years. She also served with Union City, Chattahoochee Hills, and College Park. She has been recognized as Officer of the Year 2012, 2013, Special Unit Investigator of the Year 2016, and Supervisor of the Year 2018. She served as a board member of the Douglas County Task Force on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assaults for approximately 10 years. She is a current member of the Fulton County Family Violence Task Force. Kimbrell has been with the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office since 2016 and has been the chief investigator in the Crimes Against Women and Children Unit since 2017. She has a B.S. in Criminal Justice Administration from Columbia Southern University.
